I'm Suzu, a certified native teacher. I know what it's like to study a language for years before it finally clicks, and that's exactly why I teach the way I do.

My path here wasn't a straight one. I'd trained to become a teacher, but what I really wanted was to live abroad. So at university I spent a year volunteering as a Japanese-language assistant in Australian public schools. It was there, watching a student's face light up the moment my words finally "got through," that I fell in love with teaching. I opened my online Japanese school that same year.

It's all built on one belief: everyone has strengths worth building on. So we go beyond textbooks, blending grammar with real conversation and the culture behind every word, until the language finally clicks and starts to feel like your own.

What's a lesson actually like?+
Relaxed, friendly and focused on you. We mix conversation, clear explanations and gentle practice, then I send personalized notes and homework so every session moves you forward.
How long is each lesson?+
Each private lesson is 50 minutes, the sweet spot for staying focused and absorbing a lot. Prefer to go deeper? 80-minute sessions are available on request.
I'm a complete beginner. Is that okay?+
More than okay. It's my favorite place to start. Most of my students began at zero, with no hiragana and no experience. We take it step by step, and you'll surprise yourself.
What platform do you use?+
We meet online via Zoom or Google Meet, whichever you prefer. I share materials right on screen, and you'll get a recap with notes after every lesson.
Do you teach across time zones?+
Absolutely. I teach students all over the world with flexible slots throughout the day (Japan time), so we'll easily find a time that works for you.
How do I pay, and is the trial really free?+
Yes, your first trial lesson is genuinely free, with no card needed. After that, lessons and packs are paid securely in advance via PayPal. Simple and stress-free.
